The big jumping event of the day, the CSI5*- W, Estrella Damm Trophy, began shortly after the completion of the CSI2 * Regional Government of Madrid Trophy. This class had a height of 150 cm, and was disputed under the “Winning Round” scale.
The first round was marked by a course with very tight distances and complicated triple that has given some problems to the riders, especially the last element. So many problems they had that only 6 of the 12 riders who entered the next round did it without faults in this course.
A very international second round in which the only Spanish representation was Paola Amilibia riding Prunella d’Ariel, which was one of the few zeros of the previous round. Also on this course, the riders have had some difficulties, especially in the first element of the double. Finally, the famous German rider, Marcus Ehning, who was last year’s champion of the Mutua Madrileña – Longines FEI World Cup Grand Prix, bid farewell to Madrid Horse Week with his first and only podium of this edition. He did it riding Funky Fred, in a time of 39.21 seconds. Following him closely was the Swedish Henrik von Eckermann with Chacanno, who finished the course with a time of 39.81 seconds. A bit slower was the Irishman Cameron Hanley with Eis Isaura, who climbed to the podium in third position, with 41.35 seconds.
The Spanish rider, Paola Amilibia, ensured the course without fault and has taken it calmly. She finished the test in sixth position in a time of 45.87 seconds.
